The moment Dan Jenkins realizes what it truly means to hold a gun in Yellowstone. From feeling like a god to becoming the devil.

The Shooting Lesson That Went Wrong
Dan Jenkins (Danny Huston) thought he was learning how to protect himself. His bodyguard Colby is teaching him how to shoot. After hitting the target, Jenkins smiles and says: “I feel like a god.”
Colby replies with the line that defines Yellowstone: “Whoever holds the gun is god. Until they pull the trigger. Then you’re the devil.”
Jenkins doesn’t understand it… until 2 minutes later.
When Jenkins gets home, Sheriff’s Deputy Steve Hendon and Kayce Dutton are waiting for him. Kayce thinks Jenkins tried to kill his family.
Jenkins, still feeling like a god because he has a gun in his Range Rover, pulls it.
The Result? He has two guns pointed at his face. Hendon screams: “I will shoot you in the fucking face if you don’t drop the weapon!”
Jenkins drops to his knees. Kayce puts a gun to his throat and finishes the lesson: “Pull the trigger and you’re the devil.”
Jenkins finally learns: “I’m already the devil.”
This scene is the reason why Yellowstone is more than just a cowboy show. It’s about power, and what happens when you think you have it.
